CEI2013 - Working in Wild Places: Maintaining a Sustainable Wilderness

The 27th Caretakers of the Environment International Conference
 will take place at Loch Lomond Outdoor Centre, Ardlui from 7th-13th July 2013.
Applications are invited from delegations of up to four people:  one teacher and three students or two teachers and two students to participate in the conference on the topic of Maintaining a Sustainable Wilderness. 
2013 has been designated the year of Natural Scotland when people are encouraged to explore Scotland's areas of natural beauty.  With increased access, there is a challenge to consider sustainable ways that the wild places can be enjoyed by everyone.
To celebrate the 175th anniversary of the birth of John Muir, the Scottish environmentalist who is recgnised as the founder of National Parks, all students participating in the conference will have the opportunity to gain a John Muir Award . www.jmt.org for more information about the award scheme.
